My Big Red Head

Here's an image of a great project I worked on as a development artist / director about a year ago now at Lupus Animation.
The story was written by BAFTA winning writing duo James Lamont and Jon Foster (The Amazing World of Gumball). We got to work with great artists such as Casamoke as character designer and concept & background artists Antoine Birot & James Gilleard.

Stay tuned for more!

My Chinese Adventure

Two years ago I packed my stuff and moved to Shanghai to create something a bit more than fun.
I was working with a great team of people, made some really good friends, ate myself to near-death many times and art directed a product I'm really proud of.
Please welcome some of the cover designs:

I also had the chance to create background characters.
Here are some tasters:

Little Rejects - Smudge Hill 3

Another version of the control freak from earlier - perhaps a bit too simplistic for the silver screen, but I like her. She could clean my cupboard.

Little Rejects - Old Lady and the City

I was in China at the time, cycling to work every day in one of the busiest roads of Shanghai when I received this task. The old lady was more of a secondary character in this show.  After drawing super hip kids and teens for over a decade, she felt so refreshing I just couldn't stop.
In the script there was no mentioning of scooters and reckless driving, but for some reason I felt she's crazy/cool enough to drive like the people around me on Julu Lu.

Later on I though maybe she has a pesky little neighbor

and a good childhood friend to laugh, to quarrel, to gossip and fight ruffians.

Murder on the Orient Express

Hi there! It's been a while. Is anybody out there who's still following this blog? Or any blog for that matter?
Well... I don't think I ever shared this sketch I did looooong ago, but I just bumped into it while going through the dusty folders of my computer.
Thought you might like it :-)

Devil's Pass

Things get lost or forgotten.
Like keys. Like wallets. Sometimes shoes. 8 GB of drawings. Wait wha..? Yes. It seems like I forgot to share the drawings from the movie I was storyboarding. Two. Years. Ago.
Working on this movie was great fun, especially because I was working on it at night. It felt like I was living a parallel life, one where I chase monsters.
Please, check out the result below!

Here's the trailer:

And some drawings from the board:
